What kind of businesses does VICI Financial typically work with?
VICI works primarily with owner-led businesses — companies where the owner is actively involved in operations and financial decisions. Most clients are between $250,000 and $5 million in annual revenue and need accounting that goes beyond tax filing. The common thread is that the owner wants financial information they can actually use, not just a return filed in April.
How does the discovery call work?
The discovery call is a 30-minute conversation to understand your situation and determine whether VICI is the right fit. There's no pitch, no prepared presentation, and no commitment. If the match makes sense on both sides, the next step is a structured diagnostic. If it doesn't — wrong scope, wrong size, or wrong timing — you'll hear that plainly, usually in the first call.
Do you work with businesses outside Central New York?
Yes. VICI serves clients across the United States via video and phone. Remote clients work on a regular cadence — typically monthly or quarterly check-ins with shared document access through the secure client portal. Local clients in Central New York also have the option to meet in person, at their place of business.
What's the difference between bookkeeping and advisory, and do I need both?
Bookkeeping keeps your records current and reconciled — it's the operational foundation. Advisory is what you do with those records: analyzing trends, planning for decisions, and thinking through implications before you're committed. Many clients benefit from both working together, because the advisory conversations are only as good as the underlying data. Some clients start with bookkeeping alone and add advisory as their needs grow.
Can you help if I have several years of unfiled returns or disorganized books?
Yes — this is one of the more common situations we start from. The diagnostic process specifically looks for these issues, and remediation is part of the work before any clean ongoing system is set up. VICI handles back-year returns and book cleanup as part of onboarding when needed. The goal is to get to a stable, current state and stay there.
Do you handle personal tax returns in addition to business returns?
Yes, for situations where the personal return has outgrown consumer software. That typically means business income on a Schedule C, rental properties, significant investment activity, or other complexity that makes TurboTax feel risky. VICI takes individual returns for existing business clients and as a standalone service for individuals with similarly complex situations.
How are sensitive documents like tax records shared securely?
All sensitive documents — tax records, financial statements, identity documents — move through a secure client portal. Nothing confidential is submitted through the website or sent over unencrypted email. The portal is where the document exchange happens in both directions, and access is managed at the client level.
What if I'm not sure which service I need?
That's exactly what the discovery call is for. Describe what's happening in your business — the confusion, the problem, the decision you're trying to make — and VICI will tell you what service applies, whether the scope is right, and what the next step would look like. If the need is outside VICI's scope entirely, you'll hear that too.
The discovery call is
the best place to ask.
No question is too early to bring to the first conversation. If something about your situation doesn’t fit neatly into the FAQ above, describe it in the call and VICI will work through it with you directly.
