About Blackline

Built to do
fewer vehicles
right.

Blackline opened in Phoenix in 2019 with a single controlled-environment bay and one goal: take the time the work actually requires.

Why Blackline exists.

Founder Dario Sandoval spent a decade in collision repair watching meticulous refinish work leave the shop only to be ruined within six months — by tunnel washes, cheap sealants, and paint that was coated before anyone corrected it.

He opened Blackline in the Camelback Corridor with a single bay, a color-corrected lighting rig, and a paint thickness gauge — the three things he believed every serious detail shop needed to start with.

Today the studio handles 15–20 vehicles per month. That limit is intentional. Every vehicle gets the full intake process, the full decontamination protocol, and the same technician from drop-off to pickup.

The Blackline bay.

Our studio at 4820 N 32nd St is a sealed, climate-controlled single-vehicle bay. No wind. No airborne contamination from adjacent vehicles. Temperature and humidity are managed through every paint correction and ceramic cure cycle.

Color-corrected shop lighting runs at 5,500K — daylight-equivalent so that every swirl mark, buffer trail, and low spot is visible before we call a job done.

A dedicated decontamination station handles iron fallout removal and clay bar prep before any vehicle enters the polish bay. Contamination doesn't get to ride through the whole process.
