What happens during the free trial week?
Your first session is a 30-minute intro with a coach who assesses your movement baseline and places you in the right program. From there, you get 7 days of full access — any class, any time. No credit card required. If you join at the end of the week, your first paid month starts then.
Do I need to know how to lift before joining Forge?
No prior experience is required. The Strength Foundations class is designed for all levels, and the intro session at the start of your trial ensures you're placed correctly. The coaching staff will not let you move unsafe loads before your movement patterns are sound. Most first-time barbell lifters feel comfortable within their second week.
How are class sizes capped and how does reservation work?
Every class has a hard cap of 12 members. You reserve your spot through the Forge member app (iOS and Android) up to 7 days in advance. Spots are released 15 minutes before class if unreserved. Walk-ins are welcome if a spot is open, but early reservation is recommended for the 5:30 am and 6:30 pm sessions, which fill most reliably.
What is the difference between Strength Foundations and Open Training?
Strength Foundations is a coached class with a set program — you follow the day's session structure alongside other members, with a coach guiding the session and giving individual cues. Open Training (Saturday 8 am–noon) gives you unsupervised facility access with a coach on the floor for questions. It is suited to members who want to follow their own program or practice skills outside the class format.
Is the Olympic Lifting class appropriate for beginners?
The Olympic Lifting class requires at least 3 months of strength training background. It is intermediate-level, not introductory. New members who want to learn the snatch and clean & jerk typically spend their first two to three months in Strength Foundations building positional strength before joining. Coach Marcus runs intake assessments and will tell you directly whether you're ready.
What does the monthly membership include?
One monthly membership covers all classes on the schedule — Strength Foundations, Olympic Lifting, Conditioning Circuit, Mobility & Recovery, and Open Training. There are no class-type restrictions and no hidden fees. The only plan that limits sessions is the 3x/week option at $119/month. The Unlimited plan at $149/month has no reservation limits.
Can I cancel my membership at any time?
Yes. Forge is month-to-month. There are no contracts and no cancellation fees. Cancel via the member app or by emailing the front desk before your next billing date. Memberships that are cancelled mid-cycle are not prorated, but access continues through the last paid day.
Is parking available at the North High Street location?
Yes. Forge has a dedicated lot behind the building with 24 spaces, accessed from the alley off Frambes Avenue. Street parking on N High Street is metered but free before 8 am and after 6 pm. The building is also accessible via COTA bus route 2 (High Street), with a stop directly in front.
Still have a question?
The front desk is staffed whenever classes are running. You can also reach us by phone or the contact form — we respond same business day.
